My name is Jeffrey Rose and I am running for re-election for the position of Commissioner for the Town of Surfside. I have been honored to serve as the Vice Mayor for the past two years. My wife and I moved to Surfside in 2014 and have since grown our family, with our two young sons. 

To share some of my background, I was born and raised in South Florida. I attended college at the University of Florida (where I met my better half, Leah) and graduated with a degree in political science. I started my career working in commercial real estate at Marcus and Millichap. I then decided to start working with my father in real estate with the brokerage firm, Rose and Rose Realty. While working with my father, I saw first-hand how our honest and dependable relationships with our clients contributed to our success but also saw the struggle that our clients faced when looking for general contractors with the same qualities. I realized that, with my background and experience, I could fill this void in the market, so I began my career as a general contractor and then started Rose Remodeling and Construction, LLC. 

Since moving to Surfside in 2014, I have made connections with so many residents and our town’s employees. Over the last several years, I have become extremely involved in our community, attending commission meetings, budget meetings, zoning meetings, parks and recreation meetings, tourism meetings, Downtown Vision Advisory Committee meetings, and Special Masters hearings. As a general contractor working in Surfside, I’ve built great working relationships with our town’s employees and have been able to see first-hand how our town operates. As a resident with young children, I take advantage of the programming, events, parks, and other offerings in our town. My connection to this community grew even stronger after the Champlain Towers South tragedy, where my parents owned an apartment at the time of the collapse. 

Because of my involvement in and connection to this community, I have been given the opportunity to meet and build relationships with so many Surfside residents, who have expressed their complaints, concerns, and ideas to improve our town. Residents that have been afraid or unsure of how to express their concerns often come to me for help in finding solutions to these issues and addressing them with our town’s Commission. I have, and will continue to, express my concerns as well as my fellow neighbors’ concerns. After becoming so involved with our town over the last few years, I believe I can be so much more effective in representing our community if I am re-elected as a member of our town’s Commission. Not only am I connected to our community and it's members, but I have studied our Town’s Code. This knowledge will undoubtedly give me the ability to problem-solve and make informed decisions for our town. 

As a Commissioner, it is important to represent all Surfside residents and if I am re-elected, I will take that responsibility seriously. Thank you for taking the time to read about me.
